I was reading Darren Rowse’s Problogger the other day and came across an interesting piece of info. Apparently one of his most popular blog posts ever was an article on how to hold your camera.
It may seem obvious, but it’s a really good read, particularly if your photos suffer from camera shake. You don’t need an expensive tripod either - simple things like holding your camera properly with both hands, leaning against a wall, and even learning how to breathe properly can make a huge difference.

2can I just pose a question here???
Does anyone think like me that modern cameras have just too much going on? After all, all we really want is accurate metering, a good lens, and some simple, sensible features, the manual for mine is bigger than *War and Peace* and is written in Klingon..I truly long for the days of simple honest and CHEAP cameras………..Tony aged 13 3/4

3Tony: I agree - I guess manufacturers feel they have to add all these new ‘features’ to sell cameras.
My little Casio has a “business card” mode. You take a photo of a business card and the camera automatically straightens and crops it. Pointless for 99% of people. All I really want is decent manual controls and a good lens.
